Ingredients

For the Dough:

• 4 cups all-purpose flour

• 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

• 1/2 cup granulated sugar

• 1 tsp salt

• 1 cup milk (warm)

• 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)

• 2 large eggs

For the Filling:

• 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)

• 1 cup brown sugar (packed)

• 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

• 4 oz cream cheese (softened)

• 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)

• 1 cup powdered sugar

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

• 1-2 tbsp milk (to adjust consistency)

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Dough

1. In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of the flour, yeast, and 1/4 cup of the sugar. Mix well.

2. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm (about 110°F/43°C).

3. Pour the warm milk mixture into the flour mixture and stir until combined.

4. Add the eggs and the remaining flour (3 cups) gradually, mixing until a dough forms.

5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Step 2: Prepare the Filling

In a medium bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon until well combined.

Set aside the softened butter for spreading.

Step 3: Roll Out the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface.

Roll the dough into a rectangle, approximately 16x12 inches.

Spread the softened butter evenly over the surface of the dough.

Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered dough.

Step 4: Roll and Slice

Starting from the long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log.

Slice the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.

Step 5: Second Rise

Cover the rolls with a clean cloth and let them rise again in a warm place until doubled, about 30-45 minutes.

Step 6: Bake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Step 7: Make the Frosting

In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth.

Gradually add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and enough milk to reach your desired consistency.

Step 8: Serve

Once the cinnamon rolls are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.

Spread the cream cheese frosting over the warm rolls and enjoy!

Tips

Make Ahead: You can prepare the rolls the night before and refrigerate them before the second rise. Bake them fresh in the morning!

Variations: Add nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruits to the filling for extra flavor.

Enjoy your delicious homemade cinnamon rolls! They are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or any time you crave a sweet treat.
